Burn the City (Android Game)

Found this pretty nice game today which is jus 1 USD (there is a free version also). Market link is here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.JoshOClock.BurnTheCity It is a physics game similar actually to Angry Bords but to be honest this here is much beter, from the theme of the game to the graphics, sound and also gameplay. At least in my opinion. Check it out.

Google brings games to Google+ -- Engadget

Google brings games to Google+ -- Engadget Luckily Google lets you completely remove any game related updates from your main stream. Great decision. I hated that on Facebook.

Facebook Messenger APK for Android phones

Facebook Messenger just released their separate Facebook Messenger app. Unfortunately only on the US Android Market. But as with most Android apps you can already get the APK and install it anyway, even when you are outside the US.

L-Lingo Thai: A cool new app for learning Thai on an Android phone

Finally a proper learning tool for Thai for Android smartphones. L-Lingo is actually available for many different languages.

All the other apps I tried are pretty useless (at least o me) phrasebooks for travelers. This here is a great way to learn some new words. It is an Adobe Air app, so you need Air installed also. It runs prettty smooth on my Sony Arc phone. There is loads of lessons in the paid version, overall 65 different ones. In each one you get a mix of different exercises to do. You might have somebody speak a Thai sentence and then get a choice of images to choose from the right answer.

Or you might just get a Thai sentence without sound (to learn to read) and then also choose the answer from an image. There are other types of quiz questions available. You can choose if you want to see Thai letters (if you can read Thai already0 or if you want phonetics (for beginners).

i thin kits a simple app but has lots of content and overall is well worth the 15 USD it costs. Thats on the upper side for Android apps and Im not sure how much they will sell at hat price but language apps tend to be more high priced and for the amount of content you get this is an OK deal.

Hard to believe that his is running on a phone. Amazing how quickly smartphone processors and games are progressing, much faster than PC games right now. If they keep up the pace it won't be long until smartphones will run very similar stuff than a PC.

Fpse for Android: best PSX emulator yet

Just bought fpse yesterday on the Android market and it is a great emulator. Most games run very nicely on my Sony Arc phone so you don't even need a new dual core phone. Single core is enough. It is also much beter than the free psx4droid where I couldn't find a single game that runs.

As psx4droid was already removed from the market because of obvious legal reasons I can very well imagine that fpse will go the same way sooner or later. So it would be a good idea to download it as long as it's there!

The Sony Arc is sweet

I pretty much forgot about Sony as a decent mobile maker but their newest Android lineup is pretty sweet. The Sony Arc is pretty much the most sexy smart phone currently. Its super thin, has this nice Arc curve shape, a great screen, the nice large 4,2 inch screen I love so much and a decent 1500 battery.

That means Im gonna swap my Desire HD for the Arc next month. :)

Tasker is geeky and amazing

Tasker is probably one of the most geeky Android apps out there. With it you can pretty much create tasks and tasks sequences for pretty much everything on your Android phone. The possibilities are endless. There is a higher learning curve than for other apps but its worth it. Many profiles and guides are available on the wiki already.

Tasker basically made it possible to delete 5 apps or something like that because I could duplicate or even improve the functionality of those apps with Tasker.

Pulse for Android is pretty awesome

Pulse is now also available for Android and I have been using it since a couple days. Before I used the excellent Google reader app and I still keep it installed but at the moment I have to say pulse has the edge because of the overview page where you can see little thumbnails of the different posts.

For up to I would say 12 feeds Pulse is really good. For more feeds than this Google reader is better. I still keep both but for my top ten feeds I use Pulse now. Lets see if I keep it or if I will be back on reader soon.

Google Maps 5.0 for Android

I just tried the new Google Maps app for Android and it is fantastic. Alone the new compass function works perfectly and makes navigation sooooo much easier. I absolutely love it.

Sony to release Playstation app for Android

Awesome news: Sony will release an official PlayStation app for Android soon, complete with online achievements and scoreboards. It'll also come for iOS. So this kind of makes the recent announcement of the Playstation phone much less exciting if you can just load those games on any other Android phone that is powerful enough. I am seeing forward to what kind of games will be available but for me this means that there will be finally lots of great games coming to Android. Really smart idea I think by Sony to embrace those new platforms.
